If there’s one person in the NFL who wasn’t surprised by the Panthers’ shocking decision to dump Josh Norman, that person is probably Broncos cornerback Chris Harris.
Norman’s franchise tag was rescinded by Carolina on Wednesday, which means the cornerback is now a free agent. Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said his team had to make the move because a long-term deal with Norman wasn’t ever going to get done.
“After a number of conversations with Josh’s agent we realized that a long-term deal was not attainable,” Gettleman said in a statement.
