Grand CarGo: Gonzalez collects 1,000th hit

DENVER — Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez collected his 1,000th career hit with his second double of Wednesday’s 6-5 loss to the Reds.
“It’s special, something that I really don’t pay too much attention to,” Gonzalez said. “I feel like every time you play for winning or playing for the guys next to you, great things like that happen. It’s been my mentality since I got called up to the big leagues. I don’t think it’s going to change. So far, it’s been helping me.”
