Cardinals suck the fun out of Cubs’ slogan shirts

ST. LOUIS — The longstanding rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals has been played out on the field, in free agency and now in T-shirts.
The Cubs have adopted the simple mantra “Try Not To Suck” for this season, however shirts emblazoned with the words were banned this week at the Cardinals’ Busch Stadium as the two teams played their first of six series against each other this year.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon wants answers but at the same time he finds it “humorous” that his T-shirts have caused a stir.
