Jamie McMurray raced his way into the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup in 2016, giving Chip Ganassi Racing two opportunities to run for a championship. McMurray and teammate Kyle Larson both made the playoffs as CGR enjoyed having both drivers in the Chase for the first time in its history.“I’m thrilled we made it, but it’s not just about making the Chase,” said McMurray, who is set to return to Ganassi and the No. 1 ride in 2017. “The reason you’re so thrilled about making the Chase is because you feel like you have a chance to contend for a championship.” “It’s a goal that everyone sets out at the beginning of the year to make the Chase.
