The round ended with change at the leadership position, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.Second defeat of league’s leader Hogsbo (8-2) against fourth ranked Wetterbygden (7-3) 93-88 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 23-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Wetterbygden forced 21 Hogsbo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Hogsbo’s players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wetterbygden made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mathias Liljeqvist (196-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Bosnian forward Kemal Omerbasic (201-92) contributed with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. point guard Jonas Minges (180-93) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds for Hogsbo. Hogsbo’s coach Jonas Fredrikson tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Wetterbygden have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 7-3 record. Hogsbo at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Djurgarden. Hogsbo will play next round against strong Eskilstuna trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Wetterbygden will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Eskilstuna at home. Eighth-ranked KFUM Uppsala (2-7) was very close to win a game against third ranked LF Future (7-2) in Lulea. LF Future managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Naturalized Iraqi forward Samir Ali Hussein (200-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Caleb Musie chipped in 24 points. At the losing side forward Tobias Skyttevall (196-95) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds. KFUM Uppsala’s coach Ike Person let to play ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. LF Future maintains third place with 7-2 record having just three points less than leader Djurgarden, which they share with Eskilstuna. KFUM Uppsala lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with BG Lulea and Jamtland II. LF Future will play against Taby Basket (#6) on the road in the next round. KFUM Uppsala will play against KFUM Blackeberg in Vallingby and hopes to get back on the winning track. Very important is a road loss of third ranked Eskilstuna (7-2) against tenth ranked RIG Mark (3-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Eskilstuna was defeated by RIG Mark in a tough game in Kinna 91-97. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Eskilstuna. David Czerapowicz nailed 32 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. RIG Mark’s coach Michael Bree used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Franck Kouagnia came up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for Eskilstuna in the defeat. RIG Mark moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Talje. Loser Eskilstuna keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with LF Future. RIG Mark will meet Helsingborg (#11) on the road in the next round. Eskilstuna will play against the league’s second-placed Hogsbo (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.Basketettan top team – Djurgarden (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked KFUM Blackeberg (0-8) 100-60. Joseph Taylor fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Djurgarden have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Newly promoted Djurgarden maintains first place with 9-0 record. KFUM Blackeberg at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Djurgarden will have a break next round. KFUM Blackeberg will play on the road against Jamtland II (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.Bottom-ranked KFUM Blackeberg is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to leader AIK (8-0) 77-59 on Sunday evening. It was a very good performance for Serkan Inan who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for AIK. Newly promoted AIK maintains second place with 8-0 record behind leader Djurgarden. KFUM Blackeberg lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. AIK will face KFUM Central (#7) in Stockholm in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KFUM Blackeberg will play on the road against Jamtland II (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.Other games in round 13 were not that significant. Helsingborg was smashed by Talje on the road 85-65. Trelleborg destroyed Huddinge on its own court 109-61. Koping outscored Lobas in a road game 84-65. IK Eos managed to beat Huddinge at home 95-77. RIG Mark was defeated by Talje on the opponent’s court 79-69. The most impressive performance of 13th round was 22 points and 11 rebounds by Michiel Petersen of Talje.Talje – Helsingborg 85-65The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Talje Knights’ (3-6) home victory over 11th ranked Helsingborg (2-8) 85-65 on Sunday. Talje Knights dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Helsingborg’s 32. They outrebounded Helsingborg 28-15 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for power forward Michiel Petersen (204-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Swingman Oskar Holm (197-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Patrik Andersson (191-94) answered with 11 points and guard Erik Persson (187-0) added 12 points in the effort for Helsingborg. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helsingborg’s coach Martin Fastberg gave the chance to play for ten players seeing no chance for a win. Talje Knights moved-up to seventh place, which they share with RIG Mark. Helsingborg lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Talje Knights will face higher ranked Trelleborg (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Helsingborg will play against RIG Mark (#8) and hope to win that game.
