Source: Phillies close to deal with veteran Benoit

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — The Phillies could leave the Winter Meetings with at least one new player on their roster.
Industry sources confirmed to MLB.com a CSNPhilly.com report on Sunday night that the Phillies are close to a deal with reliever Joaquin Benoit. An announcement could come this week.
