Braves plan to stay aggressive at Meetings

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — The Braves arrived at the Winter Meetings with a much different agenda than they had the past two years. Instead of standing as sellers in the early midst of a rebuilding process, they’re now potential buyers who are attempting to determine how to approach what has already been a very active offseason.

Braves president of baseball operations John Hart and general manager John Coppolella have already added three veteran pitchers to their new-look rotation. But as they spend this week mingling with their peers who have come to Washington for these meetings, they remain open to the possibility of paying the steep price it would require to trade for a controllable, front-line starting pitcher.
