Boras Basket was defeated by Norrkoping Dolphins in Norrkoping 81-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Boras Basket. Boras Basket was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-14 charge of Norrkoping Dolphins, which allowed them to win the game. Norrkoping Dolphins outrebounded Boras Basket 31-17 including 23 on the defensive glass. The former international center Joakim Kjellbom (212-79, college: N.Arizona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and American forward Cole Darling (203-91, college: Wright St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) responded with 14 points. Norrkoping Dolphins moved-up to third place. Boras Basket at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins are looking forward to face Nassjo (#7) on the road in the next round. Boras Basket will play against the league’s leader BC Lulea and is hoping to win this game. The game in Umea was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Uppsala Basket (8-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Umea (1-10). Uppsala Basket managed to secure a 7-point victory 82-75. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with Malbas. Uppsala Basket will play against Sodertalje Kings (#4) at home in the next round. Umea will play against Malbas (#8) in Malmo and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Seventh ranked KFUM Jamtland (5-5) crushed at home 8th ranked Malbas (1-10) by 44 points 102-58, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. Mike Bruesewitz fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Sebastian Petersen produced 16 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KFUM Jamtland moved-up to sixth place. Malbas lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Umea. KFUM Jamtland will meet at home higher ranked Boras Basket (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Malbas will play against Umea and it may be a tough game between close rivals. In the last game of round 13 Nassjo were destroyed by Sodertalje on the opponent’s court 98-61.
