Cardinals non-tender reliever Maness

ST. LOUIS — Reliever Seth Maness, once the Cardinals’ double-play specialist out of the bullpen, is now a free agent after the club opted not to tender the second-year arbitration-eligible player a contract before Friday’s deadline.
The Cardinals did, however, tender contracts to their other five arbitration-eligible players: Trevor Rosenthal, Matt Adams, Carlos Martinez, Kevin Siegrist and Michael Wacha. The club now turns its attention toward reaching contract agreements with those five players before a February arbitration hearing would be required.
