Point guard Derrick Rose can become a free agent during the offseason, but the New York Knicks aren’t rushing to sign him to an extension.

Latest on Rose’s Contract Status Tuesday, Nov. 29
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, the Knicks have yet to approach Rose about a new deal, as they want to see how his health holds up over the course of an entire season.
If Rose stays off the injured list and enjoys a great season, the Knicks reportedly don’t mind paying him more than they otherwise would have had they extended him earlier.
