ThomasMassamba Top ranked BC Lulea (8-2) recorded its second loss on the court of fifth ranked Sodertalje Kings on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Sodertalje Kings 96-74. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of BC Lulea. The game was mostly controlled by Sodertalje Kings. BC Lulea managed to win fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sodertalje Kings made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Sodertalje Kings had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Thomas Massamba (183-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (199-91, college: La-Monroe) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (5-2) moved-up to fourth place. BC Lulea at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Sodertalje Kings are looking forward to face Boras Basket (#5) on the road in the next round. BC Lulea will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The game in Umea was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Boras Basket (5-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Umea (1-8). Boras Basket managed to secure a 7-point victory 94-87. American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Michael Palm contributed with 28 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Norwegian-American guard Terrence Oglesby (188-88, college: Clemson) answered with 26 points and 7 assists for Umea. Boras Basket maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. Umea lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Boras Basket will play against higher ranked Sodertalje Kings (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Umea will play against Nassjo (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The game in Jamtland was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Nassjo (4-6) played at the court of seventh ranked KFUM Jamtland (4-4). KFUM Jamtland defeated Nassjo 94-80 on Friday. It was a great evening for Dino Cinac who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. KFUM Jamtland’s coach Torbjorn Gehrke used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Milos Latkovic responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. KFUM Jamtland moved-up to sixth place. Loser Nassjo dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. KFUM Jamtland will meet league’s second-placed Uppsala Basket on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another …
