Thomas vander Mars Dutch Center Thomas van der Mars (208-C-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Rapla, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.The 26-year old player had a double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Jurmala (#5, 1-4) 70-56. It allowed Rapla to consolidate first place in the Baltic League. Rapla have a solid 4-1 record. van der Mars turned to be Rapla’s top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Portland star has very solid stats this year. van der Mars is in league’s top in points (5th best: 18.2ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.6rpg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 71.4% FGP.The second best player in last round’s games was young Lithuanian Denis Krestinin (202-F-94, agency: BeoBasket) of Barons Riga.
