Iceland – Virijevic’s double-double lands him D1 Player of the Week award

MirkoVirijevic 35-year old forward Mirko Virijevic (201-F-81) had a very impressive game in the last round for league’s best team Hottur and receives a Eurobasket.com D1 Player of the Week award for round 10.He had a double-double of 34 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Fjolnir (#2, 7-2) 87-84. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. It allowed Hottur to consolidate first place in the Icelandic D1. Hottur have a solid 8-1 record. In the team’s last game Virijevic had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Hottur and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Freed-Hardeman University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Virijevic is in league’s top in points (8th best: 20.1ppg), rebounds (6th best: 10.6rpg) and averages solid 53.8% FGP.Second best performed player last round was Terrance Motley (201-F-91) of FSU.
