Thomas vander Mars Dutch Center Thomas van der Mars (208-C-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Rapla, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.The 26-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 18 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league’s bottom-ranked team Noorteliiga (#8, 0-5) with 17-point margin 81-64. Thanks to this victory Rapla moved-up to the 3rd position in Estonian Alexela KML. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Rapla will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. van der Mars turned to be Rapla’s top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Portland star has very solid stats this year. van der Mars is in league’s top in points (4th best: 19.0ppg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 63.9% FGP.The second best player in last round’s games was 31-year old Estonian point guard Kristo Saage (186-PG-85) of Valga.
