- Updated: November 22, 2016
LOS ANGELES — Vin Scully, the Dodgers’ recently retired legendary broadcaster, will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom today at the White House.
President Barack Obama last week named 21 new honorees of the award — the nation’s highest civilian honor. It is presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony will be streamed live on Tuesday at MLB.com and dodgers.com.
