Lithuania – Matulis’ 38-point game gives him NKL Player of the Week award

GintautasMatulis 30-year old swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-G/F-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league’s best team Suduva-Mantinga and receives a Eurobasket.com NKL Player of the Week award for round 13.He had the game-high 38 points adding four rebounds and three assists for Suduva-Mantinga in his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Palanga (#9, 6-8) with 33-point margin 116-83. It allowed Suduva-Mantinga to consolidate first place in the Lithuanian NKL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Suduva-Mantinga has a very solid 11-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team’s last game Matulis had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. It’s his second year at Suduva-Mantinga and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Matulis has impressive league stats.
