NFL Trade Deadline 2016: Twitter Reacts to Trades, Fails, Surprises, Non-Deals

The 2016 NFL trade deadline officially passed Tuesday afternoon, and all of the biggest trade chips stayed put.

The Cleveland Browns announced Monday they acquired linebacker Jamie Collins from the New England Patriots for a conditional draft pick. The Detroit Lions also confirmed Tuesday they finalized a trade for cornerback Johnthan Banks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While many teams remained inactive on deadline day, Sports Illustrated’s Chris Burke was hard at work:

A few marquee names bounced around the rumor mill before ultimately going nowhere.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio spoke to a source who described the New York Jets as “actively shopping” defensive end Sheldon Richardson.

While Richardson remains a member of the Jets, ESPN.com’s Rich Cimini doesn’t see the trade speculation ending in the offseason:
