Gorgui Dieng, Timberwolves to Agree on New Contract: Latest Details, Reaction

The Minnesota Timberwolves took a step Monday toward ensuring some of their young talent will be around for the foreseeable future.
According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Minnesota “is finalizing a four-year, $64 million contract extension” with 26-year-old big man Gorgui Dieng.
Marc J. Spears of ESPN’s The Undefeated also reported on the news.
Charania reported Minnesota’s front office met with Dieng’s agent Monday after discussing a potential extension “over the past month.” Charania noted the proposals the two sides exchanged became more serious in the weeks leading up to Monday’s meeting.
