- Updated: October 30, 2016
YannickAnzuluni There were just 6 rounds played in Regular Season of Basketligan and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Basketligan top team – BC Lulea (4-1) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat seventh ranked Nassjo (2-4) 70-61. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 34-15 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. BC Lulea dominated on the defensive end, holding Nassjo to just 5 points in third quarter. It was a good game for Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds. point guard Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American Auston Barnes (203-91, college: Bradley) replied with 11 points for Nassjo. BC Lulea maintains first position with 4-1 record, which they share with Sodertalje. Nassjo lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with four games lost. BC Lulea is looking forward to face Uppsala Basket (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nassjo will play against Boras Basket (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series. Bottom-ranked Malbas is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to third ranked Sodertalje Kings (4-1) 74-52. International center Nicholas Spires (210-94) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Toni Bizaca chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) with 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sodertalje Kings have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with BC Lulea. Malbas at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Sodertalje Kings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Malbas will play on the road against Norrkoping Dolphins (#6) in Norrkoping and hope to get finally their first victory. In the last game of round 6 Norrkoping lost to undefeated Uppsala on the road 64-73.
