GermainJordan National League Regular Season is still in too early stage and there may be still significant changes in the standings. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.The most surprising game was a loss of Hasharon (2-1) in Kazrin on Tuesday night. Visitors were edged by Galil Elion (1-2) 75-74. Hasharon was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 19-16 charge of Galil Elion, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Galil Elion outrebounded Hasharon 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Maxim Kikus (188-94) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Greg Logins (203-88, college: Canisius, agency: HMS) with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Galil Elion is looking forward to face Ironi Kiryat Ata (#12) on the road in the next round. Hasharon will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Very significant was Maccabi Raanana’s (#3) 80-76 road victory against Ironi Nes-Ziona. It was an exceptional evening for forward Lior Carreira (199-97) who led the winners and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Samme Givens accounted for 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. Ironi Nes-Ziona’s coach Roy Hagai rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Maccabi Raanana will play against Ironi Ramat Gan (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Hasharon (#4) in Ramat Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals. A very close game took place in Kfar Saba between Hapoel Kfar Saba and Maccabi Rehovot. Hapoel Kfar Saba (3-0) got a very close home victory over Maccabi Rehovot (0-3). Hapoel Kfar Saba managed to escape with a 3-point win 75-72 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Terrence Watson who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Evan Yates who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Hapoel Kfar Saba will meet Hap.R/G Givat. (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Rehovot will play against Hapoel Migd.H. (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.A very interesting game took place in Kiryat Ata. It ended with only two-point home defeat of Ironi Kiryat Ata (0-3) to Hapoel B/S (2-1) 76-74 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was a good game for Jeff Allen who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Hapoel B/S’s next round opponent will be Hap.Haifa (#5). Ironi Kiryat Ata will play against Galil Elion (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.Important game to mention about took place in Ramat Gan. Hap.R/G Givat. (2-1) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Ironi Ramat Gan (1-2) 77-75 on Monday evening. It was a great evening for Yaniv Solomon who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. Hap.R/G Givat. will face Hapoel Kfar Saba at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ironi Ramat Gan will play against Maccabi Raanana (#2) and hope to win that game. In the last two games of round 3 Hapoel G/A won against Hapoel Migd.H. on the opponent’s court 81-77. Winless Maccabi H/H was outscored by Hap.Haifa in a home game 71-94.
