Slovakia – Sims number one in Slovakia for round 5

Garrick Sims American Center Garrick Sims (203-C-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for Lucenec, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.The 25-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Karlovka (#9, 1-3) with 22-point margin 91-69. Lucenec is placed at 4th position in Slovakian SBL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost that single game earlier this season. Lucenec will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Sims turned to be Lucenec’s top player in his first season with the team. Former Lake Erie College star has very solid stats this year. Sims leads league in rebounds with 11.3rpg. Sims is in league’s top in assists (4th best: 4.8apg) and averages impressive 69.7% FGP.The second best player in last round’s games was 23-year old American Wayne Langston (201-F-93) of Rieker KN. Langston had a very good evening with 28 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Rieker KN lost that game 78-88 to the higher-ranked Inter Bratislava (#2, 4-1).
