There are few topics that get the dander of many NASCAR fans up as much as the discussion about whether or not Sprint Cup drivers should compete in either the XFINITY or Camping World Truck Series.
On one hand is the argument that each division is an open competition and any driver with a car or truck that meets the specifications should be allowed to race. Several understand that in many cases, sponsorship is the reason organizations field entries for Cup drivers. Without the name behind the wheel, some rides simply may not exist.
The other side of the coin is that the Cup interlopers take the spotlight away from the regulars in both series, including young drivers trying to make names for themselves and move up the ladder.
Finding a balance is not an easy proposition.
