DamonWilliams There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in Korisliiga. The most surprising game was a loss of Kouvot (1-1) on the court of Lapuan Korikobrat on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Lapuan Korikobrat 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Lapuan Korikobrat. Kouvot managed to win second period 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lapuan Korikobrat dominated on the defensive end, holding Kouvot to just 7 points in first quarter. Lapuan Korikobrat dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kouvot’s 38. American players dominated the game. Forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Dom Morris (201-90, college: Boston U.) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for Kouvot. Kouvot’s coach Antti Hurri rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. Tampereen Pyrinto (0-84) used its home court advantage to challenge Salon Vilpas (84-0). The visitors from Salo managed to secure only one-point victory 91-90. However their fans expected much easier game. American players dominated also this game.
