International football comes thick and fast this weekend – and Sky Sports has every angle of the first batch of fixtures covered.

Can Gareth Bale’s goal rush continue? (Austria v Wales, Thursday, 7.45, Sky Sports 1)

Wales boss Chris Coleman thinks Bale will chase down Ian Rush’s all-time goalscoring record by the end of the World Cup qualifiers.

Bale’s double against Moldova in September means he’s now bagged 24 goals for his country – 10 in his last 13 starts – and needs just four more to draw level with Rush’s record.

Spanish conquerors are in Dublin – can they add another scalp?  (Republic of Ireland v Georgia, Thursday, 7.45, Sky Sports 2)

Recent form is an important component in football and if you take Georgia’s last away win seriously, then Ireland could be in trouble at the Aviva Stadium.

Spain were on the end of one of the biggest shocks in international football history when losing 1-0 to Georgia in June ahead of Euro 2016. After picking up a precious point in their opening Group D match against Serbia, Ireland will be hoping they don’t follow suit.

Can Dusan Tadic continue to weave his magic? (Moldova v Serbia, Thursday, 7.45, Sky Sports 1)

Sticking with the Group D theme, Welsh and Irish eyes will be on this clash at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau. Creative players like the in-form Tadic will need to come to the fore for the Serbs in what could be a tricky encounter.

The Southampton playmaker is becoming a big influence for club and country and has scored in three of his last four international appearances.

Kosovo make their ‘home’ international bow – can they create history? (Kosovo v Croatia, Thursday, 7.45, Sky Sports 1)

It is over eight years since Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia and Thursday sees their national football team play their first ever home competitive match, although the World Cup qualifying tie against Croatia will be staged in the Albanian city of Shkoder due to the Kosovan capital, Pristina, not meeting FIFA regulations.
