Edwards Ready for Next Round

Share: CONCORD, N.C. – After finishing the Round of 16 with a single top 10 and two finishes in the mid-teens, Carl Edwards is ready to get his championship hopes back on track this weekend in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Edwards opened the 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup with a disappointing 15th-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway, rebounded for sixth the following week at New Hampshire and then closed out the round with a 14th-place finish last week at Dover, and will start this round seeded in 10th. Now in the Round of 12 with only eight drivers advancing after the next three races, Edwards knows now is the time to get his season on track, especially with Talladega looming on the horizon. “We’re really where that we know that first round was – that’s too close,” Edwards said. “We need to run better.
