Double win for German Canoe Polo Clubs in Spain

Burriana (02/10/2016) – The 2016 Canoe Polo European Club Championships in Burriana, Spain, has concluded with exciting final matches and double celebration of German Canoe Polo Clubs. Göttinger Paddle Club won in the women’s final against P.C. Catania and Rothe Mühle Essen beat Montpellier in men’s final.
Both men’s clubs playing later in the final showed an excellent scoring form in the semi-final matches where they scored nine times each to securely advance to the gold medal match. Semi-final match Montpellier versus KST 2001 Siracusa ended with a score 9 – 1 and Rothe Mühle Essen advanced to the final with a final score 9 – 5 in their semi-final against French club Condé Sur Vire.In the final match players of the Rothe Mühle Essen did most of their work already in the first half of the match, leading 2 – 0, but Montpellier scored in the second half not letting the Germans to be relaxed until the final whistle.
