M’gladbach v Barcelona preview

Barcelona may be without Lionel Messi, but they still have plenty of attacking options for the trip to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League, on Wednesday.
Luis Suarez, Neymar, Ivan Rakitic, Arda Turan and Andres Iniesta have all travelled to Germany for the Group C fixture, with the Catalan club top of the four-team table after a 7-0 hammering of Celtic on the opening matchday.
Monchengladbach suffered a disappointing 4-0 loss against Manchester City in their opener, but have been boosted by the news that manager Andre Schubert has extended his contract with the Bundesliga club until 2019.
Schubert has developed an exciting squad at Monchengladbach en-route to achieving Champions League qualification, and defender Oscar Wendt is excited about the opportunities that Europe’s elite competition bring.
“We are happy to be playing against one of the world’s best teams,” Wendt said. “And it is even better that they are coming to us on Wednesday.”
“But we are no fans of Barcelona and do not want to play a supporting role on the night. We want to give it all we have and make something special out of it.”
