Scrutineer floors Danzeno

A review of Monday’s action at Hamilton where Mick Channon’s Scrutineer lowered the colours of hotpot Danzeno.
Scrutineer relished the testing conditions on the final meeting on the year at Hamilton to floor hotpot Danzeno in the totepoolliveinfo.
Mick Channon’s 3/1 winner was useful as a juvenile and has been busy and largely consistent as a three-year-old, building here on his last-time-out third in a well-contested Listed contest won by Nameitwhatyoulike at York.
Group One-placed Danzeno is a high-class performer at his best, but has not got his head in front in over a year and while he was soon bowling along at the head of affairs, the danger signs appeared from two out.
Chased along with a furlong to run, the even-money favourite had no answer as Graham Lee and Scrutineer went clear. To his credit, the market leader fought back but was a length down at the line.
Channon could look for a “sexy” entry for his charge in the coming weeks.
