Morrison wins in opening round

Marcus Morrison gave Joe Gallagher plenty of time to prepare for the top-of-the-bill fight by blasting Matiouze Royer away inside the first round.
The Manchester middleweight made light work of the Frenchman, who had taken Jamie Cox the distance and went to the penultimate round with Vijender Singh in his previous two visits to these shores.
Morrison was on the offence from the start and soon a right upper-cut landed cleanly. Then midway through the opening round a left to the body had Royer wincing and about to go down only for 23-year-old prospect Morrison to finish him off with a right hook to his temple.
