Following the historic qualification to the , their first time in nearly four decades, Uganda has shifted focus to the .
The Cranes will travel to the northern Ghanaian city of Tamale to face the Black Stars in a Group E Day One clash on Friday, 7 October 2016.
In the build-up to the game, Uganda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has named a 30-man provisional squad for the opening match of the group phase which will see Congo hosting Egypt in the other Group E match two days later in Kintele.
The surprise inclusions in the squad include Colorado Rapids midfielder Mike Azira and Hamis Dieo Kizza of Free State Stars in South Africa. Both missed out in the squad that beat Comoros 1-0 to make history when Uganda qualified for the AFCON after a 39-year absence.
