Braves add pitching depth with two trades

ATLANTA — The Braves acquired a pair right-handed pitchers on Wednesday in separate trades with the Cubs and Mariners. Atlanta received Josh Collmenter from Chicago in exchange for cash considerations and also added Joe Wieland from Seattle for a player to be named and cash considerations.
Both players will provide pitching depth for Triple-A Gwinnett as the team continues competing in the Minor League playoffs, but Collmenter could soon join the Braves’ roster.
With Williams Perez sidelined by a right elbow impingement, Collmenter could slide into the big league rotation and start Saturday’s home game against the Nationals. …
