Braves to host SD in SunTrust Park opener

ATLANTA — The Braves will begin the 2017 season with a three-city road trip and then return to Atlanta to open the brand new SunTrust Park on April 14 against the Padres.
Major League Baseball released its full 2017 schedule on Wednesday.
Because it will serve as the first regular-season game played in the new stadium, this home opener against the Padres will be one of the most anticipated games the Braves have played since last participating in the postseason in 2013. First pitch is currently scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET.
