De Sousa closes on century

News of the action from Great Yarmouth where Silvestre De Sousa moved on to the 99 mark for the season.
Silvestre de Sousa closed in on a century of winners for the season after moving on to the 99 mark following a double at Yarmouth, highlighted by the victory of Basil Berry in the Greene King IPA Conditions Stakes.
With Jim Crowley riding just the one winner at Chepstow, the reigning champion jockey moved to within three of his rival in the Stobart-sponsored title race thanks to his brace at the Norfolk track, which was completed aboard the Chris Dwyer-trained five-year-old.

There was no hard-luck story for Muthmira when initiating De Sousa’s double with victory in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.
