Dillon Eyes First Chase

Austin Dillon needs to get through one more race to make his first career appearance in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Dillon enters Saturday night’s Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway inside The Chase Grid of 16 drivers that will run for the title beginning next weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. While a win would automatically move him into the “playoffs,” he realistically only needs to score a solid finish to lock in a berth.
“We’ve done a good job putting ourselves in position,” Dillon said Friday at RIR. “We wish we were already locked in, but I’m proud of the guys. If we run well and finish strong, that’ll take care of itself.”
