BMW Championship 2016: Thursday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights

After rainy weather caused problems in Indiana on Thursday, Roberto Castro holds the lead at the 2016 BMW Championship at seven under par.

More than half of the field was unable to complete the first round because of darkness. 

Per PGA Tour Media, play will resume Friday at 8 a.m. ET as golfers seek to get in as many holes as possible to get back on schedule for a Sunday finish.

Here are the standings at the BMW Championship following Thursday’s action:

Castro flirted with a blemish-free round for most of the day, overcoming the bad weather to shoot eight under par through the first 17 holes. He was on fire on the back nine, hitting five birdies from Nos. 11 through 17.

The only negative came on the 18th hole, where he made a bogey that dropped his score to seven under.

Per Justin Ray of Golf Channel, Castro’s success should have been easy to predict based on who designed the course at Crooked Stick Golf Club:
