Trainer Dominic Ingle believes the odds of Kell Brook beating Gennady Golovkin will shorten once ‘The Special One’ steps on the scales and shows off his new physique.
Brook (36-0-KO25) is already tailing off preparations for Saturday’s colossal clash with WBA Super, WBC and IBF world middleweight king Golovkin (35-0-KO32) – live on Sky Sports Box Office – and told Thursday’s final press conference he’s been “a joy to train.”
There was no disagreement from Ingle, who says the extra 13lbs weight allowance has allowed Brook to fuel himself with energy and enthusiasm for work.
Ingle said: “This fight couldn’t have come at a better time for us or Kell. He’s been looking to move up weights for a long time but we pursued the route of the welterweight title. We had to achieve that first.
