Te-ball: Ex-NFL QB shows pop at MLB tryout

LOS ANGELES — Tim Tebow’s baseball showcase is in full flight, and the former NFL quarterback has shown his trademark speed, plus some serious batting-practice pop.
After running a quick 60-yard dash and doing throwing and catching in the outfield, Tebow took batting practice. He hit three home runs in his first round, including one to right-center field that soared way above the scoreboard, landing at least 400 feet from home plate on the top level of a nearby parking garage. He hit two more in his second round, with another hitting the treetops above the scoreboard.
Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, two-time national champion at the University of Florida and former quarterback for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets, is in the midst of a two-hour workout at Dedeaux Field on the University of Southern California campus that is being attended by a reported 27 of the 30 Major League scouts and being watched by a large media …
