New WWE Universal Champion Crowned On RAW, Triple H Returns (Photos, Videos)
- Updated: August 30, 2016
Kevin Owens became the second-ever WWE Universal Champion on tonight’s RAW from Houston.
He defeated Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Big Cass in a Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match to win the vacant title, which was relinquished by Finn Balor after suffering an injury at the hands of Rollins at SummerSlam.
The match saw Cass get eliminated first, by Owens. Reigns was eliminated next, by Rollins after Triple H made a surprise return and attacked Reigns outside of the ring. This led to Triple H turning on Rollins, hitting him with a Pedigree and allowing Owens to get the title. Triple H then celebrated with Owens before stopping at ringside to stare at Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon. He then walked off as Owens was left to celebrate in the ring.
