2015-16 Season: Thomas Greiss had a breakout year, setting career highs in games played (41), wins (23) and save percentage (.925). Greiss was an essential piece in the Islanders’ goalie platoon, becoming the starter down the stretch in wake of an injury to Jaroslav Halak.
Greiss’ breakout season continued into the playoffs, as he helped the Islanders advance to the second round for the first time since 1993. His numbers were good – .923 SV%, 2.36 GAA – but undersold his contribution in the Florida Panthers series.
