McCourt to buy Marseille

Frank McCourt, former owner of baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, has agreed to take control of Ligue 1 side Marseille.
McCourt is determined to turn the club into perennial contenders for the French championship, a title they have only won once since 1992.
The 63-year-old businessman bought the Dodgers for $340m back in 2004 but was forced to sell in 2012 after a bitter divorce battle with his now ex-wife Jamie, who had been chief executive officer for the franchise.
