Showalter: Gausman good as ever vs. Yanks

NEW YORK — Finally.
Orioles starter Kevin Gausman picked up his first win in 14 road starts this season on Sunday and he did it in impressive fashion. The righty hurled a badly needed seven scoreless innings to lead the O’s to a sweep-avoiding 5-0 victory over the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
“That’s about as good as I’ve seen him,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of Gausman, who picked up his first road victory as a starter since August 17, 2014.
“He had really good command of his fastball and both offspeed pitches. [Catcher Matt Wieters] did a great job with kind of rocking the boat back-and-forth and not letting them sit on anything.”
