Pedroia taking temporary leave, to miss finale with KC

BOSTON — The Red Sox will be without red-hot leadoff man Dustin Pedroia for Sunday night’s rubber match against the Royals at Fenway Park.
Pedroia will take a temporary leave from the team to tend to a family matter. A team spokesman confirmed Pedroia will miss Sunday’s game. There is no word yet on whether he will be back for Monday night’s home game against the Rays.
