Nadal ‘excited’ for US Open

Rafael Nadal has said he is excited to compete at the US Open, following a wrist injury which left him unable to compete at the French Open and Wimbledon.
Nadal returned to action earlier on this month at the Rio Olympics, reaching the singles semi-finals and winning gold in doubles with his friend Marc Lopez.
Although the Spaniard is not fully recovered from a wrist injury, which left him sidelined for two and a half months, he said he was exhilarated at the thought of heading into the last grand slam of the season.
“If you’re not excited about the US Open, you’re not a tennis player,” he said.
