Rashford in England U21 squad

Marcus Rashford has been named in the England U21 squad for the first time – meaning he is unlikely to be in Sam Allardyce’s first senior pool when it is announced on Sunday.
The Manchester United striker’s significant progress in the second half of last season saw him called up by former manager Roy Hodgson before Euro 2016.
Rashford scored just three minutes into his senior debut, a 2-1 friendly win against Australia, and that was enough to ensure a place in England’s 23-man group which travelled to France, where he made two substitute appearances.
The match against Norway in Colchester is on September 6, two days after the senior side’s World Cup preliminary match against Slovakia.
Although U21 boss Gareth Southgate has yet to confirm whether Rashford will feature in both groups, he has suggested the player’s focus should be on the younger squad for now.
He told The FA’s website: “Last season, his pathway was remarkable and we’re very conscious of plotting how we develop our young players.
