Angels’ road slide ends with offensive onslaught

TORONTO — The Angels did something they hadn’t done in nearly a month on Wednesday night: pick up a road win. The Halos snapped an 11-game road losing streak with an 8-2 win over the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
Veteran slugger Albert Pujols led the 17-hit attack by going 4-for-4 with three RBIs, including his 584th career home run in the first inning — part of back-to-back shots with Mike Trout — to pass former teammate Mark McGwire for sole possession of 10th on the all-time list.
Catcher Jett Bandy had a career-high four hits and starter Matt Shoemaker (8-13, 3.98 ERA) tossed six scoreless innings to win back-to-back starts for the first time since mid-July.
