Pipeline preview: Sisco is hitter to watch

Here’s a look at top prospects to watch Thursday in Minor League action:

Hitter to watch: Chance Sisco (Orioles’ No. 2), Bowie vs. Binghamton (7:05 p.m. ET)

Sisco has raked all year for Bowie and is showing no signs of cooling off as the season winds down. After going 2-for-4 on Wednesday, the catcher is batting .311 through 105 games. Sisco has hits in three of his past four games, but has just one extra base hit — a homer on Aug. 18 — during that span. Honeywell, the No. 45 overall prospect, fired six scoreless frames in his last start and hasn’t given up a run in his past seven innings. The 21-year-old has posted a 2.14 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP since he was promoted to Double-A on July 7. As a member of the Biscuits, Honeywell has pitched at least six innings in five of eight starts.

Stephenson is likely anxious to get back on the mound and erase the lasting image of his last start. The No. 63 overall prospect couldn’t find the strike zone in his last outing, walking four and giving up six runs in two innings. Stephenson has pitched at least six innings in eight of his past 10 starts and has a 4.66 ERA in 22 Triple-A appearances this year.
