MLB, MLBPA aim to develop game in Puerto Rico

Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association on Wednesday announced a joint commitment of $5 million for the support and creation of baseball development programs in Puerto Rico.
The financial commitment, which will be given out over the course of the next Basic Agreement, takes into consideration the island’s long-standing passion and support of baseball, as well as its rich MLB tradition.
