Valbuena will have season-ending hamstring surgery

Astros third baseman Luis Valbuena will be out for the rest of the season, manager A.J. Hinch said on Tuesday. Hinch added that Valbuena will have surgery on his injured right hamstring within the next few days.
“His hamstring tendon needs to be worked on,” Hinch said before Houston’s game against the Pirates at PNC Park. “He tried to play through it and see if he could rehab it. Turns out, he couldn’t. So surgery’s the next consideration, and he’ll miss the remainder of the …
