Ross could return to Nats in a relief role

BALTIMORE — Nationals pitcher Joe Ross, who has been on the disabled list since July 2 with right shoulder inflammation, could pitch out of the bullpen later in the season, manager Dusty Baker said Monday.
Ross has played long toss in recent days but has yet to throw off a mound, and with the Minor League season winding to a close, he could run out of time to make a rehab start.
With that in mind, Baker said, the Nats might try Ross in a new role.
