Xherdan Shaqiri looks set to miss out on Stoke City’s squad for their second round EFL Cup tie against Stevenage.
The Switzerland international was left out of the side that lost 4-1 to Manchester City on Saturday after sustaining an ankle injury in pre-season and is expected to be rested for the cup tie against their Sky Bet League Two opposition.
